Flatpak Install Error Status 256

Attempting to install Zoom flatpak in an lxc container.

I’ve tried multiple variants of Ubuntu, Mint, and Debian containers. All give the same error during zoom flatpak installation command.

$ flatpak install flathub us.zoom.Zoom

Warning: While trying to apply extra data: apply_extra script failed, exit status 256
Error: While trying to apply extra data: apply_extra script failed, exit status 256
error: Failed to install us.zoom.Zoom: While trying to apply extra data: apply_extra script failed, exit status 256

Per a reference I found I have attempted setting $XDG_DATA_DIRS which did not fix the problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It occurs to me that my basic goal, using lxc to provide vlan capability and sandbox beyond that provided by flatseal is too esoteric. It also needs a connection to the audio server among other things which I figured out was going to be a pain.

While flatpak install methods or the flatpak providers should provide more useful error messages in general to help end users, please feel free to continue ignoring this post as I have moved on.
