just getting started with flatpak after trying Kinoite/Fedora as an Ubuntu Alternative.
What I currently do not fully understand:
I have several machines running Kinoite 42, and all but one see and install version 4.3 (i.e. 4.3.2) of Blender Flatpak, although the flathub site shows 4.4.
But then, I have one machine, which was formerly running Kinoite 41 and been upgraded, but has an older, but better processor as well, that has and runs version 4.4.
What’s the reason for different, but similar machines getting different versions of an app?
I can’t get the 4.4 from flathub with the Fedora Kinoite install/update tool, while I do get the 4.4 from flathub if I do use the flatpak command line tool.
Although the tool indicates that there is two sources for that package, it somehow fails to detect that there is a newer version on flathub and fails to take it even if I actively select flathub as the source.
So it seems to be a problem of the fedora/KDE tool or between the tool and flathub.
I noticed that the tool toggles between “there is a stable version on flathub” and “this version outdated, there is a stable version on Flathub” – it sometimes uses flathub with f and Flathub with F, so it seems to be confused about the package sources.
