Error: com.valvesoftware.Steam needs a later flatpak version

Can’t install steam due to this error and can’t update flatpak

running Chrome OS, flatpak currently on version 1.10.8
needs version 1.11.1

every other programs runs normal

flatpak update updates only the Flatpak that you’ve instaled with flatpak, but not flatpak itself. I have no experience on Chrome OS, but you can try sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade o update flatpak.
