Flathub Content from around the net

In this thread let’s link up flathub content from around the web. That way people can just subscribe to this thread and get all the news and info about what’s happening around flatpaks and flathub

  • One post per thing.
  • Application should have a high quality flatpak
  • If possible let’s concentrate on applications.
  • If you’ve got comments on something do it “upstream” or start a new thread, that way we can keep this focused.
  • Let’s avoid opinion pieces and “versus” content

This could easily get out of hand so let’s keep it classy and positive.

Firefox recently changed it’s default download behavior, which results in you downloading the flatpakref file when you click “Install” on flathub, but someone’s made an extension to fix it!

The Steam hardware survey for April says that 5.96% of Linux users are using " Freedesktop.org 21.08.12 (Flatpak runtime)."

One month later, the Steam hardware survey now says flatpak users are up to 6.05% of Linux users!

In July, flapak usage share fell to 5.29%. Arch seems to be the winner of the month.

In August, flatpak usage share again fell to 4.34%. However, the total Linux usage share increased due to Steam Deck, so that might not indicate a fall in overall users.

In September, flatpak usage share increased to 4.81%.
