How does one clear app data?

I am new to this. I was downloading DeSmuME on ChromeOS and I messed up the settings, I tried uninstalling it multiple times, and the settings remained after I reinstalled it. How do I clear the app’s data whenever I uninstall it?

flatpak uninstall org.desmume.DeSmuME --delete-data or by deleting the data manually from $HOME/.var/app/org.desmume.DeSmuMe
