Mesa 24.3.1 segfaults

Mesa drivers version 24.3.1 has a bug specifc to polaris gpus like RX580 causes segfaults while using wayland.

it was fixed in opensuse tumbleweed patch(fixes mesa 24.3.1 gallium crash/segfault on GPUs without format modifiers (mesa issue#12253, mesa MR#32535, boo#1234302) ) .
here from Mesa Gitlab

now flatpak apps using Mesa org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default 24.3.1 24.08 getting segfaults in the same manner while using wayland.

applications using the extension org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default branch 24.08:
one.ablaze.floorp, org.jdownloader.JDownloader, com.github.tchx84.Flatseal, com.usebottles.bottles, it.mijorus.gearlever, page.kramo.Cartridges

apologies english isnt my main language nor im a technical expert.

You can downgrade the runtime/GL extension temporarily, it will be fixed in the next release Tips and Tricks - Flatpak documentation

thanks

downgrading didnt help so i had to remove
runtime/org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default/x86_64/24.08 (system)
runtime/org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default/x86_64/24.08extra (system)

now apps working again.

note: the \ in the downgrade tips and tricks command makes the the process fail as an invalid commit, i think the page need an update .

No, it should work that’s how multilining in shell works.

Anyways we’ll try to release an update for the runtime again with a patch for the crashes.

i meant its working for me without multi lining

Yes please because it will fix everything for me

my solution made apps work but graphics acceleration for games is now broken in bottles.

affects also org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default/x86_64/23.08 (-extra) and radeon r9 380.

New runtime releases were made for both 24.08 and 23.08 with the patches. Please update to 23.08.27 and 24.08.9
