Passing Flatpak app maintenance over to new members

Hello everyone,

I am the current maintainer of the Flatpak for Bitwarden, an opensource password management application.

Since upstream’s fuzzy communication over the recent changes to their opensource model (possibly transitioning to an open core model, but again not very clear), my motivation for maintaining this Flatpak tanked. There are also other Flatpak apps that I am no longer interested in maintaining (cough Postman cough) due to questionable upstream practices.

I was seriously considering orphaning the maintenance of Bitwarden, but some upstream developers showed their interests in taking over, and are already working on improvements that I would not have time finishing myself.

My questions are the following:

  1. What’s the current policy for orphaning a Flatpak?
  2. What’s the current policy for passing over to new maintainers?

Thank you all

Upstream took charge of Bitwarden Add maintainers to com.bitwarden.desktop · Issue #5756 · flathub/flathub · GitHub

If you are orphaning something you can post it in [Tracking] Orphaned flathub packages in need of a new maintainer. · Issue #3693 · flathub/flathub · GitHub plus announce in your app repo / ping other contributors if they are interested.
