Heya, just noticed this…
So there are issues open for this on Joplin itself, they are blocked like many apps I’ve seen… Long story short is that people building apps with Electron want to use electrons native “packaging for X” tooling… and electron has some issues with flatpak that I can’t really recall atm.
What I did discover however was that simply extracting an AppImage created by an electron build and dropping it into a flatpak just worked[tm]… So I’ve been using that method to save me the pains of building the whole thing on all my various computers…
Its a little dirty but it beats doing a full compile… so if its useful to you checkout https://github.com/starkers/joplin-flatpak
