I was a Gentoo Developer, Arch Linux Trusted User, I worked more than 19 years across embedded, distribution and enterprise systems and I currently work in Red Hat (so I’m not an inexperienced user).
I also made some talks related to ostree, rpm-ostree and Fedora Silverblue.
I admit I acted thoughtlessly by opening the PR related to Mercurygram assigned by an AI (maybe I overestimated their capability to open PR), but LOCKING the thread without permitting me to reply seems an unacceptable rude behavior that could (and should) be avoided.
As member of FSFE we encourage people to contribute and we know being so rude only have the opposite effect without a good reason (good contributor are not so easy to find).
Your affiliations elsewhere seem irrelevant here. So mentioning them isn’t going to earn any favours. In fact, one would think that you would open a proper submission PR following the requirements, given your open source experience etc. that you are describing.
Now, no one is / was being rude. We get 100s of those slop PRs per month and they are closed and locked with a curt reply to prevent spamming as some of these AI agents do. We are tired from the slopfest too.
By using an AI agent, removing the PR template and putting a random unrelated template you put yourself in the same category as those AI sloppers and spammers and thus received the short reply.
Maybe you should read the requirements before doing the PR or complaining later, because using a LLM is explicitly banned in the requirements.
I didn’t used an AI agent, I just asked a web AI to generate me a PR message and I used gh pr cli (as an old linux developer, I prefer to use cli) with -F option.
I know, it was my error to do not open the github PR UI and to read the template, but still locking a conversation without giving time to people to reply it’s quite rude for me.
Moreover, the new PR was marked as duplicate. How can it be duplicated if the previous one is locked and closed and so it’s not possible to work on it anymore?
That’s exactly the same thing and had the same end result. The PR template was replaced with LLM slop. I don’t understand why you are lawyering over this, it will not work.

As I said they are locked, because spammers keep spamming on them, it is not rude when you think it from the perspective of the people managing a guge queue; it’s rather a necessity to moderate properly.

I re-read the messages with clear mind and you are right, you just reacted as a normal “AI slop” crap (and you’ll surely receive lots of them).
