Thunderbird says it's flatpak name is changing. How did it know?

I generally turn off auto updates (including even checking for updates) but somehow my flatpak-installed tunderbird esr poped up a message that it’s flatpak name is changing.

How did it know? Does Thunderbird communicate with mozilla or flatpak? or did this come from flatpak doing updates on it’s own even though i didn’t?

Thunderbird and Thunderbird ESR manifest files appear to point to upstream. They appear to be provided by Mozilla without interference from Flathub maintainers.

The in-app notification must be something they manage on their end. We obviously helped with rebasing the old ID into the new one but that’s about it.
