Hi All,
As Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS comes with Kodi 19.4 which is rather old. I have also installed the Flatpak version Kodi 21.1.0. This with the Confluence Skin installs and plays Video’s, YouTube and “IPTV Simple Client” without issues. However attempts to set Video sources using “Videos->Files->Add Video…” function, works fine for local “/home/xxx/Videos/”. However attempts to connect to Network share located on my router “smb://192.168.1.1/KINGSTON/Video/” results in failure with the message “Operation not permitted” followed by “Coudn’t connect to network server”.
This is presumably a sandbox issue. I have used Flatseal to enable all possible options that it currently offers with no avail.
In Kodi under “System->Services->SMB Client” Minimum protocol version set to SMBv1 and Maxium protocol version set to SMBv3. Kodi 19.4 work just fine with these settings as does Android instances of Kodi 21.1.0 on “Fire Stick” and various Tablets.
